2:00 p.m. 1. Committee Business
(Consideration of minutes of the May 21, 1997 meeting).
2:05 p.m. 2. Transportation Code Recodification
(In the April meeting, the committee supported a recodification of the highway code (Title 27) and other sections related to the
Department of Transportation for this interim period. The committee

periodic basis. This item is for the information and discussion of
committee members).

the information of committee members).
*
Russ Widmar, Salt Lake Airport Authority
2:40 p.m. 4. Statewide Airport Improvement Program
(An increasing demand for airport planning, development, and maintenance projects, and a decline in federal dollars has resulted
in a greater financial burden on state and local government to
address airport infrastructure needs. How are the 51 public airports
in the state being funded?
How do airport needs compare with financial resources? What options are available? How should the
state respond to this issue?
This item is for the information and discussion of committee members).

more than last year's projected $1.36 billion total project cost.
What are the cash flow requirements for the project? What shortfalls
exist? This item is to keep the committee informed of major
developments and on what to expect in the near future for the
