Over the past six
legislati

general
sessions
, 15 bills
have
been
passed
relating
to the
operatio n of a
motor
vehicle
while
under
the
influenc
e of
alcohol
or
drugs.
Some of
the
issues
these
bills
addresse
d
include
repeat
offender
s, off-
highway
vehicles
, aircraft
pilots,
the
ignition
interloc
k
system,
chemica
l tests,
juvenile
s, and
stiffer
penaltie
s.
In the
1997
General
Session,
the
followin g two
bills
passed:
HB 55 - Alcohol
and
Drug
Testing
Fee -
increase
d the
administ
rative
fee for
driver
license
reinstate
ment
after an
alcohol
or drug
related
offense
from
$35 to
$100.
