1.    Approval of November 19, 1997 Minutes

2.    Individual and Small Group Health Insurance Reform
    Since 1994, the Legislature has enacted numerous pieces of legislation designed to reform health care by improving access, containing cost, and enhancing quality. The committee will review the impact of this legislation on the individual and small group insurance markets.

3.    Genetic Testing Privacy Act
    The committee will begin a study of H.B. 271, Genetic Testing Privacy Act which was considered during the 1998 General Session by the House Health and Human Services Standing Committee and referred to interim study.

4.    Tobacco Litigation Update
    
The committee will receive a brief update on the state's litigation to recover Medicaid monies, litigation and settlement activities in other states, and federal proposals to enact last year's settlement agreement between tobacco companies and state attorneys general.
