(The funding package passed by the Legislature during the

included a projection of $450
million in new federal funds

Both the U.S. Senate and the
House have passed their own
versions of a new six-year
transportation funding bill.
Both versions provide
substantial increases in
funding for Utah
transportation projects. The
two bills will go to a
conference committee. How
much money will go to the
state in each version? How
does this compare with prior
years and with the projection
in the Legislature's 1997
