        *    Approval of November 19, 1997 minutes
        *    Approval of April 22, 1998 minutes
        *    Discussion of 1998 Interim Study Items _ Ethics Reform

     3.    Western Regional Primary    
    
        The committee will hear information concerning implementation of a western regional primary.

     4.     Elections Issues

        The Government Operations Committee has oversight over elections issues in the state. Staff and Kelleen Potter, Director of Elections, Lieutenant Governor's Office, will brief the committee on several elections issues which could require legislative action.

        *    Political Party Issues
        *    Public and Commercial Access to Voter Registration Information
        *     Voting Equipment and Voting Mechanisms

     5.     Sunset Review of Judicial Nominating Commissions

        The committee will hear information concerning the process used to select judges. This will also include discussion of the judicial nominating committees which are scheduled to be repealed July 1, 1999.
