        *    Approval of May 20, 1998 minutes

     3.     Political Party Amendments

        At its last meeting, the Government Operations Committee discussed the state's role in regulating political parties. Draft legislation has now been prepared for discussion.

     4.     Public and Commercial Access to Voter Registration Information

        At its last meeting, the Government Operations Committee discussed the issue of access to voter registration information. Draft legislation will be distributed to the committee for discussion on this issue in response to this discussion.

     5.    Office of State Debt Collection
    
        In April, the committee received preliminary background information on the Office of State Debt Collection. At this meeting, the committee will hear further background on the office, state debt collection procedures, and proposed statutory changes.
