1. Call to Order and Committee Business -
Minutes of the May 20, 1998 meeting.

Religious Freedom Restoration Act
In 1997, the United States Supreme Court held that certain aspects of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act were unconstitutional because, in
part, the act violated state rights. The committee will discuss whether it is
in the interest of Utah to provide state statutes to reinstate aspects of the
Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
3. Privatization of Social Security Number
The committee will examine the practice of using social security numbers as identification numbers when conducting private business and review
legislation that will allow individuals to be identified by a means other
than a social security number.
