2:00 p.m.     1.    Call to Order and Committee Business - Rep. David Ure, House Chair
        *    Approval of minutes of June 17, 1998 meeting

2:10 p.m.     2.    Follow up - Form of Government for a City Changing Classes
        In the June meeting, the committee requested draft legislation be prepared that would allow a city to retain its old form of government when the city's classification is changed due to population growth.
        *    Review draft legislation: Robert H. Rees, Committee Staff Attorney

2:30 p.m.     3.    Special Districts Recodification
        The committee will:
        1) review the policy statements developed by the subcommittee in 1997; and
        2) review governing body issues.

3:30 p.m.     4.    Waiver of Governmental Immunity for Perjury by a Government Employee
        (Study Item #46) H.B. 97, Governmental Immunity Amendments, by Rep. Greg Curtis, 1998 General Session, would have waived governmental immunity from actions seeking damages resulting from the perjury, the intentional making of a false statement, or the making of a false statement with reckless regard as to its truthfulness, by a government employee is any court or administrative hearing. In order to fine tune the language, Rep. Curtis withdrew H.B. 97 in the 1998 General Session and requested the issue be studied during the interim.
