As part of the Commission's study of the enterprise management proposals, the chief information officer has been requested to provide detailed policy and budgetary information. In addition, the Governor has recently proposed a "New Mission For Technology" which proposes a reorganization of the state's information technology infrastructure. Because all the information provided by the chief information officer and the Governor's new mission statement appear to be closely related, the Commission will review these proposals in detail. The purpose of this detailed review is to determine what legislation or budgetary changes may be necessary if the Commission is supportive of the enterprise management initiative and its proposed information technology infrastructure reorganization.
