State Impact:
Under this bill a current $100 fee would not be collected. The fund that this fee provides for impecunious offenders (too poor to pay) interlock devices. To date only
two offenders (for a total of four years probation) have availed themselves of such assistace. With $3,400 currently in the fund, one offender per year would draw down
the fund in 4 years, after which Public Safety would require some aditional funds to provide this service.
Individual and Business Impact:
Future offenders would not have to pay the additional $100 to the interlock devices fund.
