HB0050 - Automobile Crime Prevention
State Impact:
The bill creates a General Fund Restricted account to be known as the Automobile Crime Prevention Restricted Account and imposes a $1 fee on each vehicle registration to be deposited in this account. Funds from this account will then be used for the operation of the Automobile Crime Prevention Authority entity also created by the bill. It is estimated that revenues generated by the bill will be $248,000 in FY 2004 and $1,700,000 each fiscal year thereafter. The bill appropriates these funds to the Automobile Crime Prevention Authority.
