1. H.B. 78, Reilly Civil Stalking Amendments (L. Shurtliff)
Rep. Shurtliff presented 1st Sub. H.B. 78.

Barbara Mason, Law Enforcement Comm.; and Ray Lopez, S.L. County Law
Enforcement Div.; spoke in favor of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Suazo moved to pass 1st Sub. H.B. 78 out of committee with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

1st Sub. H.B. 79, Stalking Amendments - Criminal (L. Shurtliff)

H.B. 286, Statewide Crime Reduction Plan (D. Bourdeaux)
Rep. Bourdeaux presented the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Suazo moved to adopt the following amendment to H.B. 286.

Page 4, Line 92: After "statutory" delete "requirement to create" and insert "provisions regarding the creating of"

Page 3, Line 63: After "Committee:" delete "and"

Page 3, Line 64: After "House" delete the period and insert "and"

Page 3, Line 65: At the beginning of line 65 insert "(4) one senator appointed by the president of the Senate."
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Dmitrich moved to pass H.B. 286 as amended, out of committee with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

Rep. Snow presented the bill.
MOTION: Rep. Hellewell moved to pass H.B. 53 out of committee with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

S.B. 216, Minmum Pack Size For tobacco Products.
Sen. Howell presented the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Hellewell moved to pass S.B. 216 out of committee with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Dmitrich moved to accept the minutes of February 22, and 23, 1999. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Suazo moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
