             6      AN ACT RELATING TO HIGHER EDUCATION; APPROPRIATING $50,000 TO SALT LAKE
             7      COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO ESTABLISH A SATELLITE CAMPUS; AND PROVIDING AN
             8      EFFECTIVE DATE.
             9      This act enacts uncodified material.
             10      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             11          Section 1. Appropriation.
             12          (1) There is appropriated from the General Fund for fiscal year 2000-01, $50,000 to the
             13      State Board of Regents to be distributed to Salt Lake Community College to establish a satellite
             14      campus in the Magna area of Salt Lake County.
             15          (2) The college shall use the facility to:
             16          (a) provide continuing education classes focused on meeting the educational, social, and
             17      emotional needs of students;
             18          (b) collaborate with state and county agencies to provide needed services to the local
             19      community; and
             20          (c) provide applied technology training services for employers on a contractual basis to
             21      foster career and economic development.
             22          Section 2. Effective date.
             23          This act takes effect on July 1, 2000.
