Mr. President:

    The Revenue and Taxation Committee reports a favorable recommendation on S.B. 272, SALES AND USE TAXATION OF ADMISSIONS OR USER FEES - OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES OF 2002, by Senator J. Valentine, with the following amendments:
1.    Page 1, Line 9:    After "CHARGED;" insert "MODIFYING THE USES OF THE OLYMPICS SPECIAL REVENUE FUND;"

2.    Page 1, Line 10:    After "FOR A" delete "ONE-YEAR" and insert "CERTAIN TIME"

3.    Page 3, Line 88:    After "Games;" bracket "and" and after Line 88 insert:
        "(C) or as otherwise appropriated by the Legislature for state costs related to the Olympic Winter Games of 2002; and"

4.    Page 3, Line 89:    At the beginning of Line 89 bracket "(C)" and insert "(D)"

5.    Page 14, Line 415:    After "through" delete "April 30, 2001" and insert "June 30, 2002"

6.    Page 14, Line 417:    After "2002" insert "if the amounts paid or charged are established by the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Olympic Winter Games of 2002 in accordance with requirements of the International Olympic Committee"
