Representative Katherine M. Bryson proposes the following amendments:

1.    Page 5, Line 143
    House Committee Amendments
    Dated 2-22-2000:    After line 143 insert:
        " (5) School officials shall adopt policies:
         (a) to keep students who do not participate in a survey administered under Subsections (2) or (3) from being singled out, harassed, or subject to ridicule because of their nonparticipation; and
         (b) to ensure that students referred to in Subsection (5)(a) are not penalized in their academic or citizenship performance because of their nonparticipation. "
