This act modifies the State System of Higher Education Code by authorizing the presidents
6
of the institutions of higher education and the State Board of Regents to reallocate
7
designated appropriations between line items. This act has an immediate effective date.

This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:

Section 1.
Section
53B-2-107
is enacted to read:

53B-2-107. Appropriations reallocation.
14
(1) Notwithstanding the requirements of Title 63, Chapter 38, Budgetary Procedures Act,
15
appropriations for the support of higher education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001 and
16
ending June 30, 2002, may be reallocated between line items as provided in this section.
17
(2) The president of the University of Utah may reallocate between line items the
18
following appropriations described in Chapter 334, Laws of Utah 2001, provided that the total
19
amount of money reallocated may not exceed the sum of the reductions made in Items 115-123,
20

Section 2. Effective date.

If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this act takes effect
111
upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
112
Constitution Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto, the
113
date of veto override.
