Rep. Thompson called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Bird moved to approve the minutes of the February 16, 2004 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Buffmire, Rep. Jones, Rep. Litvack, and Rep. Mascaro absent for the vote.


H.B. 70    Geriatric Care Managers (Rep. R. Lockhart)

MOTION:    Rep. Lockhart moved to delete in title and body H.B. 70 and replace it with 1st Sub. H.B. 70. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Buffmire, Rep. Jones, Rep. Litvack, and Rep. Mascaro absent for the vote.

Rep. Lockhart introduced 1st Sub. H.B. 70 and explained it to the committee.

H.B. 127    Certified Medication Aide (Rep. R. Lockhart)

H.B. 127 was not considered at this meeting.


H.B. 291    Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments (Rep. G. Donnelson)

MOTION:    Rep. Last moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 1, Lines 13 through 17 :    

             13      Administration

             14          .    prohibits the addition of any product to a public water supply containing a
             15      contaminant regulated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency,
             16      which at maximum use levels exceeds the EPA's Maximum Contaminant Level
             17      Goals.   ]]

Rep. Donnelson introduced H.B. 291 and explained it to the committee. He was assisted by David Hansen of Kaysville, who showed a slide presentation.

MOTION:    Rep. Litvack moved to table the bill. The motion passed with Rep. Bird and Rep. Thompson voting in opposition to the motion and Rep. Lockhart absent for the vote.



H.B. 351    Gaps Analysis of Current Approaches to Covering the Uninsured and Underinsured Task Force (Rep. S. Mascaro)

MOTION:    Rep. Mascaro moved to delete in title and body H.B. 351 and replace it with 1st Sub. H.B. 351, Task Force Studying Private Sector Approaches to Covering the Uninsured. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Lockhart absent for the vote.

Rep. Mascaro introduced 1st Sub. H.B. 351 and explained it to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Mascaro moved to delete in title and body H.B. 257 and replace it with 1st Sub. H.B. 257. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Lockhart absent for the vote.

Rep. Bryson introduced 1st Sub. H.B. 257 and explained it to the committee. She presented a handout to the committee.
